Khalid Nassour was just a first-year med student when he was chosen by the spirit of the sorcerer Nabu to be the new bearer of the helmet of Doctor Fate. But now Khalid’s long-lost great uncle has returned—Kent Nelson, the original hero known as Doctor Fate. And just in time, as Khalid’s home of New York City and his loved ones find themselves under attack by fire demons and Egyptian gods.
